About me

i frequently make stuff, most often by gluing things to other things. some of the things are flat and some are less so. sometimes i put stamps on those things (usually the flat ones) and send them away to strangers. i also like to mix things together with people and places to see what happens. the results are most often very pleasant and not at all what i had imagined.

i have read lots of books about art, studied art, shown and sold art and have worked in galleries and museums where other people show their art. is this important? it seems so when i’m doing it.

i am always happy to find out how interesting new people can be.

  1. Interesting. Very interesting. Where can I see your work online?

    • thank you kathleen.

i post work on here occasionally. ( i think the first couple of posts i have show some work.) most of the time i just put stamps on things and forget to document them.

perhaps i can put a stamp on something for you…

  4. Hi!

We found you via the Instant People project in which you recently participated. We love your contribution.

That’s why we would like to introduce another photography project to you in which self-portraits are created too.
The project is ‘Follow the Red Line’ in which we try to make the longest conceptual photo series ever.
The concept being a self-portrait (width:height = 2:3) with a red line in it. The red line has to enter the photo on the left and leave it on the right and is the symbol of the connection between all photographers.
Why we do this? Because we think photography is fun and we like to make a virtual connection between photographers worldwide.

We aim for 2012 self-portraits in 2012 from at least 100 countries. We have about 200 self-portraits already from 27 countries, so we need a lot more!

Since you have contributed to Instant People, we thought you might like to join our series too.
And will you help us spread the word?

All contributions and the project rules can be found over here: http://www.redlineportraits.com

Hope to see your redline-self-portrait soon!

    All the best,

Jessica van der Burg and Petra Oldengarm
    the Netherlands

P.S. we participated in Instant People too…!
